In a thrilling Wednesday night game, Chadwick defeated Flintridge Prep on the road in Crawford Gymnasium 47-46. After trailing the entire game, the Dolphins mounted a 10 point comeback in the last 6 minutes of the game to take the lead in the final minute, with Zeke Robel hitting the go-ahead bucket in the final minute and Nate Nguyen getting the game-sealing block. Jai Ratnayake quoted after the game, "Walk into your trap, take over your trap." No comment by me on that quote.

The Dolphins hadn't beaten the Wolves for the past 5 years. Despite coming very close last year at home, with the game being sent to overtime by Robel's game-tying free throws, Chadwick ultimately lost to Flintridge with Lawson Holland taking over in overtime. Holland graduated last year, but Flintridge was still projected to be favored going into this matchup. Chadwick defeating them boosts their early season hopes to a massive degree, as they open the Prep League with a win over one of the top contenders in the league.
Polytechnic winning over EF by a larger margin earlier in the season currently puts them as top in the Prep League, and should the Dolphins beat Rio Hondo on Friday, it seems like the two games between Poly and Chadwick are going to decide the winner of the league.

Flintridge led the entire game up until the score was 47-46, and had a lead as big as 14 points in the middle of the 3rd quarter. Miles Adashek had a huge game for Flintridge offensively, but was unable to come through with the win for the Wolves.
PLAYER OF THE MATCH: JOEY LITTLE

This was a tough one. Luke Swanholt had his best game of the season with a near triple double with blocks (12 points, 12 rebounds, 8 blocks), and absolutely anchored the team defensively. If the POTM was based on the stat sheet alone, then it's hard not to pick Swanny here. However, Joey (15 points) absolutely kept the team in the game when they couldn't find a bucket both early and late game. He also had arguably the highlight moment of the season for Chadwick: dropping Flintridge Senior Barrett Jackson to the floor and hitting a deep three. For him to cap it all off with the game-sealing board, it's hard not to give him the POTM here.
The Dolphins play Rio Hondo Prep this Friday at home at 6:00 PM. If they win, they will be the top team in the Prep League.
